Transport Planner - Manchester

The Manchester team are looking for a talented and collaborative Transport Planner who shares their purpose and desire to make a positive difference to the world around them. Sustainable design is at the heart of this Practice and collectively they create inspirational designs that will protect our climate and enhance the built environment.
As a Transport Planner, you will be contributing to the delivery of a variety of strategic transport projects across the UK, as well as planning for residential and commercial development and urban regeneration.  You will have the opportunity to work alongside industry experts and high profile private and public sector clients and collaborators.
The team are looking for a progressive and talented engineer who is keen to influence the people around them with the same understanding and empathy that they bring to their engineering.
The Role:
·Strategic transport planning at a town and city-wide scale; contribution to Strategic Regeneration Frameworks, Design Codes and masterplans
·Preparation of Transport Assessments, Travel Plans, active travel and car parking strategies, Environmental Impact Assessment for a range of projects across multiple sectors
·Use of GIS for strategic analysis and data interpretation
·Traffic modelling
·Travel Planning - including liaison with developers and communities, production of Travel Plan information leaflets, surveys and administration
·Site visits and meeting attendance
·Transport planning, highway design and analysis
·Assessing problems and identifying opportunities using qualitative and quantitative measures
·Contributing to high quality written reports on a range of projects
·Preparation, presentation and self-checking of reports, technical data and drawings
·Use of industry standard analysis software (e.g. LINSIG, Junctions)
·Preparation and contribution to Internal Reviews
·Compliance with the duties of Designer under the CDM Regulations 2015
·Compliance with the practice IMS, including self-checking
·Understanding of the project in order to deliver: outputs required, deadlines, liaising with the project team, feeding any matters arising back to senior team
·Briefing Technicians and Graduates in the production of reports, drawings and models
·Telephone and email contact with clients and collaborators
·Attending site and project team meetings under the direction of a Senior Engineer/Associate
·Buddying junior members of the team
·Contributing to writing bids and fee proposals
