Head of Power Civils
Location: Manchester
Are you an experienced Civil Engineer ready to lead transformative projects in the UK's energy sector? We are looking for a Head of Power Civils to oversee a growing portfolio of energy infrastructure projects, from grid modernisation to renewable generation connections. As the Head of Power Civils, you will lead and manage a multidisciplinary team, driving the delivery of high-quality civil engineering solutions across a range of power projects. You will ensure technical excellence, compliance, and innovation, while mentoring the next generation of engineers.
Key Responsibilities
·Lead and develop a team of civil engineers across various power infrastructure projects.
·Oversee design packages for substations, grid infrastructure, and onshore renewables.
·Ensure quality assurance, technical governance, and compliance.
·Conduct feasibility studies, site investigations, and technical assessments.
·Manage project budgets, resources, and schedules.
·Mentor junior engineers and promote knowledge sharing.
·Coordinate with internal teams, external consultants, and clients.
About You
·Degree (HND or higher) in Civil or Structural Engineering.
·Ideally IEng or CEng with ICE, IStructE, or similar membership.
·Experience in civil/structural design for power infrastructure.
·Strong background in National Grid Transmission Procedures and electrical transmission.
·Leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
·Knowledge of CDM regulations, environmental and waste management legislation.
