Senior Scheduler
- Location: Hybrid working - Sizewell C 3x a week (2x WFH)
- Contract: 12 Month Contract
- Rate: £520 Per Day Inside IR35
As a Senior Scheduler within Sizewell C Project Controls, you will be part of a team driving forward excellence in schedule management for one of the UK's most ambitious and complex infrastructure projects. This role plays a key part in ensuring the efficient and on-time delivery of project schedules, proactively identifying opportunities for improvement, and fostering innovation within the project's delivery model. This role offers the opportunity to collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, manage direct reports, liaise with supply chains, and ensure compliance with contract requirements. You will also be expected to lead schedule workshops, identify key interfaces, and help mitigate project schedule pressures.
Key Responsibilities
- Accountable for the successful delivery of the integrated schedule for your scope of work, ensuring alignment with Sizewell C objectives.
- Lead and manage schedule-related activities for your team, providing direction and oversight to up to 5 direct reports, including junior schedulers, graduates, and apprentices.
- Collaborate with multi-discipline teams and senior Project Managers, and engage with the supply chain to assure schedule-related activities and drive efficiencies.
- Review and ensure that supplier schedules comply with contract requirements and align with project objectives. Conduct forensic analysis to manage schedule change.
- Support the Programme Schedule Lead with progress updates, forecasting, variance identification, and performance reports.
- Oversee the timely production of monthly baseline, forecast, and performance reports for your scope of work.
- Contribute to making Sizewell C an industry leader in schedule management by promoting best practices, presenting to stakeholders, and sharing knowledge within the construction sector.
- Proactively identify schedule risks and opportunities, providing mitigation strategies and promoting the effective management of project interdependencies.
- Provide guidance and support to team members, helping to develop their skills and foster growth within the project.
Essential Qualifications, Skills, and Experience
- Degree or equivalent qualification in business analysis, project management, engineering, construction, or a related technical field.
- Proven experience as a Senior Scheduler on large, complex infrastructure projects.
- Expert knowledge of Primavera P6 and experience with Acumen Fuse or similar schedule quality tools.
- Strong understanding of Schedule Hierarchy, Schedule Integration, and Schedule Change processes.
- Experience in developing schedules from first principles and critical interrogation of suppliers' schedules.
- Commercial acumen and knowledge of NEC and FIDIC contracts.
- In-depth understanding of construction management, design processes, and CDM regulations and their impact on schedules.
- Strong stakeholder management experience, with the ability to manage senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams effectively.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Exceptional problem-solving, presentation, influencing, and facilitation skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to lead workshops and manage complex schedule-related activities.
Desirable Skills & Experience
- Membership of AACE, PMI, APM, or similar professional organisations, and associated certifications.
- Familiarity with Project Management techniques as per APM Guidelines or similar learned societies.
- Experience using Power BI and other project controls systems.
- Nuclear sector experience is highly desirable but not essential.
