Telecoms Design Engineer
My client are looking for a Telecommunications Design Engineer to be serving a high profile utility client. My client operates as a Telecommunication Infrastructure Services Company. Covering the full network, they deliver managed services and projects for both fixed and mobile infrastructure networks across the operator and utility markets.
Reporting to the Senior Design Engineer within the Technical Support Services department, the Design Engineer is responsible for the production of high quality Bid and Design solutions in accordance to customer requirements and specifications.
As part of the role, you will be:
 
·Capture and interpret customer requirements, design complex solutions to meet customer requirements whilst ensuring solutions are buildable, repeatable, and utilising existing standard services and templates
·Acting as key signoff for technical artefacts. This will be design, implementation & test approaches, operational & support handover, etc.
·Assist deployment and operation of customer networks by ensuring the design is followed and any deviations are recorded and reported to the Project Manager
 
The following skills/experience are essential:
 
·At least 5 years' experience in dealing with SME or larger customers in a technical, solution design or consultancy role
·Fibre systems including fibre characteristics, electrical utility fibre deployment, ground deploy and 3rd party fibre
·Copper xDSL products including services via BT WBMC and SHDSL over copper "pilot" cables
·Telecoms installation in electrical substation environment
·PDH, SDH experience - Essential
