Job description
We are seeking an experienced and driven Project and Development Lead (Homelessness) to support a Staffordshire local authority in accelerating the delivery of temporary accommodation solutions. This is a critical role focused on addressing urgent gaps in provision for people experiencing homelessness, rough sleeping, or complex needs, while reducing long-term financial and social pressures.
Working closely with internal teams and external partners, you will identify, assess and develop a range of temporary accommodation options, including private sector leasing, nightly paid accommodation and property acquisitions. You will lead on financial modelling, setting out costs, benefits and staffing implications, and make clear recommendations to senior leaders on the most effective and sustainable models.
The role involves developing contracts, leases and rental agreements, preparing procurement documentation and reports for decision-makers, and providing regular progress updates to senior management.
The ideal candidate will have significant experience in housing or homelessness services, a strong track record of developing new services, sound project management skills, and a proactive, solution-focused approach. This is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on homelessness provision across Staffordshire.
