Job description
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Housing Enforcement Officer to join a local authority in Lincolnshire, helping to improve housing standards and protect public health across the district.
In this role, you will investigate complaints relating to poor housing conditions across a range of property types, including single dwellings, Houses in Multiple Occupation (HMOs) and mobile homes. You will carry out inspections under the Housing Health and Safety Rating System (HHSRS), identifying and assessing hazards, producing detailed records, schedules of works, reports, notices and correspondence.
You will also inspect HMOs and properties within selective licensing areas to determine their suitability for licensing, administer licence applications, monitor compliance with licence conditions and investigate suspected unlicensed properties. The role includes taking appropriate informal and formal enforcement action, gathering evidence in line with PACE, and conducting interviews under caution where required.
This is an excellent opportunity to make a real impact within a public sector housing enforcement team.
