What we are looking for:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Street Works Inspector to join the Traffic and Highways Team on a full time and temporary basis. This post holder will support and deputise for the Highways and Street Works Co-ordinator in the provision, management and co-ordination of Street Works.

What you will be doing:

As a Street Works Inspector, you will manage permit applications ensuring that the only deemed permits that have occurred have been as the result of technical issues and to ensure that the aims of the Traffic Management Act must be adhered to. You will be responsible for Issuing and tracking of fixed penalty notices when breaches of conditions included in the East of England permit scheme are identified by inspectors. You will also manage permit fee reconciliation monthly and deal with financial queries when they arise from utilities. The role requires you to monitor charge production work specifically related to Defect and Sample Inspection fee charges as well as expenditure, income, fees and charges. As a Street Works Inspector, you will ensure all Public Utilities' and Highway Authority's Notices and Registrations are logged into the computer system, checking that Notices conform to the templates in the Code of Practice for Co-ordination of Street Works, and that the notice periods are correct for the location and type of works.
