Carrington West are assisting their local authority client based in The Home Counties in their search for a Senior Planning Policy Officer to join their Town Planning department. This will be offered on an initial 6-month contract, then rolling.
 
We are looking for an experienced Senior Planner with prior experience working on a local plan towards and through the Regulation 18 stage of the Local Plan. You will need the skills, drive and commitment to review and prepare the plans and policies and deal with a complex and varied planning policy workload. The candidate will need to be pro-active, and delivery focused, innovative and highly adept in group working and problem solving.  You will be expected to help support the team leader on a number of development documents, policies & proposals, community engagement, consultation documents, sustainability appraisals, and other various tasks.
 
Our client are offering hybrid working arrangements. It would be beneficial to hold a RTPI accredited Planning Degree or equivalent Planning qualification and/or have experience in a similar position.
