Senior Highway Engineer

We are currently assisting our client based in Bedfordshire, to find an experienced and available Senior Highways Engineer to join their busy in-house Engineering department.

What you will be doing:

• To prepare or assist in the preparation of technical design and contract documents
• Formulate project programmes and liaison and co-ordination of stake holders to deliver project to time scale and budget.
• Compile maintenance schemes / contracts and monitor progress of contracts and consultants to deliver cost effective maintenance of infrastructure.
• Supervise, motivate and direct junior members of staff to promote project delivery to agreed timescale and budgets.

What you will need to succeed:

• Ability to demonstrate experience in Highways engineering
• General knowledge of Engineering, Highways and transport policies and associated legislation
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD
• Able to work without close supervision
• Ability to keep good work records
• HNC or Degree in Civil Engineering / Transportation
