1 person required to focus on Freeport up to December 2021
1 person required to focus on Town Deal, scheme development, Levelling Up - up to December 2021
 
The additional resource is needed following the council's success in achieving grant funding for three major regeneration proposals (Freeport and 2x Town Deals) - with one more Town Deal awaiting decision.
 
'Levelling up' fund - major funding programme announced March 2021 for which the council is a lead/key partner in bid development.
 
Development and preparation of more detailed design, consultation and final business case submission for Freeport and town deal projects is required over a short period of time (up to December 2021) but potentially beyond.
 
Who
Experience therefore of at least 2 of the following is essential:
 
·Regeneration bid development (previous experience of highways and transport schemes would be a bonus)
· Feasibility study development and appraisal;
· Project management, delivering in a multi-disciplinary environment and working across multiple partner agencies
·Working in local govt environment as the officer will be required to work closely and liaise internally with key DCC services
 
Freeport project will involve working with - DfTransport, BEIS, Toyota, South Derbyshire DC, business supply chain (advanced manufacturing) and landowners to produce timely expert advice, business cases and wider support to the project team.
 
Town deals at Staveley and Clay Cross - level of input will be similar to  Freeport  but will also require strong internal liaison with key DCC services so experience of working in local govt will be important.
