Quantity Surveyor - Blackburn - Permanent - £55k with vehicle and benefits
Hybrid role (2-3 days a week from home)
Our client; a well-respected national Fire and Security company is currently recruiting for a Quantity Surveyor with some experience in designing electronic security systems. This role would be ideal for an engineer with 3-5 years' experience, looking for their next long-term challenge. If you had a controls and instrumentation background, this could also be suitable.

The role
·Advising the project team, with specialist assistance, on contract and commercial matters, including in-depth planning of potential claims and dispute resolution.
·In conjunction with the project team(s), prepare and issue of contractual letters to customers, subcontractors, and suppliers, with a focus on risk and dispute mitigation
·Post contract liaison with Customers and their consultant Project Management and Commercial team(s),
·Post contract liaison with Subcontractors, Consultants and suppliers
·Preparation of appropriate Bills of Quantities/ Activity Schedules and the like.
 
To be successful in this role you will: 
 
·BSc (Hons) In Quantity Surveying and/ or BSc (Hons) Commercial Management.
·Working towards or has membership of Professional body, including RICS Current
·Good working knowledge of forms of contract currently used within the Building, Civil Engineering and Building Services industry, including experience of the JCT standard suite of Contracts and the NEC 3 and 4 suites of contracts is essential
·High degree of personal motivation and an ability to work under own initiative on allocated projects with the minimum of supervision.
·Strong Commercial acumen.
·UK driving licence
