Job description

My client are a progressive developer of renewable energy projects in the UK, focussing on Onshore Wind and Battery Storage Projects primarily.
 
Due to a reshape, they have vacancies for 2 Planning Project Managers to join their busy, but growing team.
 
The role will initially be working from home, with a return to their head office in Lanarkshire at the first viable opportunity.
 
Main Duties and Responsibilities
 
·Working with the existing Project Management and PLanning teams to identify, assess, design and develop new proposals for onshore wind farm sites.
 
·Assist in identifying potential new sites and developing these through pre scoping, scoping and planning and post-planning stages
 
·Support the evolution and development of any current wind farm sites that are already in the planning system and advance them through to successful completion.
 
·Meet and liaise with relevant stakeholders including Landowners, Local Planning Authorities, Energy consents Unit, Councillors and Community Councils and residents from local host communities.
· 
·Work with external consultants to ensure EIA assessments and reports are undertaken and delivered, including critical analysis of the results to identify and rectify any potential issues that may arise.
 
·Land searches, and interpretation of Title Deeds.
 
·Prepare and issue drawings and wind farm layout designs
 
·Prepare, review and submit EIA Reports and accompanying documents for planning applications, and for the discharge of pre-commencement planning conditions
 
·Effective communication with Projects Director, Board of Directors and team members to ensure sure the smooth running of projects and to meet project programme deadlines.
 
 
Key Skills and Experience
 
·Ideally hold a degree in Renewable Energy or Geography or another relevant subject.
·Have at least 3 years' experience of working as a Project Manager, ideally within the onshore wind energy sector.
·A strong working knowledge of the Scottish onshore wind energy industry is preferable, with experience of working on S36 applications.
·Experience mentoring and guiding of more junior staff to ensure completion of projects milestones
·Excellent report writing skills and documentation reviewing skills.
·Demonstrate problem-solving skills and hands on approach to design and develop wind farm proposals.
·Excellent organisation and communications skills along with excellent people skills as the successful candidate will deal with a variety of different audiences.
·Excellent IT skills and confident at providing presentations
