Job description

Carrington West are assisting their local authority client based in the North of England in their search for a Principal Planning Policy Officer. The contract will be for a 12 month period and can be offered on a largely remote basis (Office presence only required for key meetings).

We are looking for an experienced Planning Specialist with recent local authority experience and the ability to hit the ground running in leading and supporting the delivery of the Strategic Planning Team work programme.
 
Key responsibilities
·Support for the Examination in Public for the join plan with a key focus on jobs, new homes, and sustainable growth
·Preparation of the Council's Local Plan
·Leading and assisting on the preparation of Masterplans, Supplementary Planning Documents, Planning Briefs and other documents as required
·Interpretation and management of data and evidence
 
Our client is willing to offer a flexible working situation, with an expectation of site visits once per/week.

It would be beneficial to have a relevant degree or equivalent qualification in town planning and be a member of the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI)
