Highways Maintenance Technician
 
We are currently recruiting for a Highways Maintenance Technician for an ongoing contract in Buckinghamshire. You will be responsible for supporting the construction team in the delivery of projects including drawings, reports, calculations, and any other activities assigned from time to time.
 
As the Highways Maintenance Technician, you will support Senior staff members in the construction of highway schemes to include (but not limited to) Public Realm improvements, carriageway and footway repairs and reconstruction, drainage, vehicle restraint systems, temporary works, traffic management, road markings and signs, minor and major improvement works.
 
General Responsibilities:
 
·To assist with the construction of a range of schemes
·To assist with the preparation of drawings, reports and calculations for projects
·Supporting the administration & delivery of projects
·Ensuring Construction outputs meet the required standards
·To ensure speedy and courteous responses to queries
·Meeting agreed deadlines
·Working as an integral member of a construction team
·Contributing to providing solutions to challenging problems
·Attend site for site surveys
·You will be expected to attend progress meetings, public exhibitions and public inquiries
·Understands the overall functions, aims and directions of Transport for Buckinghamshire, and how their specific area of responsibility fits into those objectives.
·Proactively undertake and record Continuing Professional Development
·Support Equality & Diversity activities
·Support Health, Safety, Environment and Quality across Transport for Buckinghamshire
·To carry out any other reasonable duties that may be directed or implied from time to time commensurate to the post and/or organisational requirements.
 
Experience:
 
·Minimum HNC/HND in Civil Engineering or related subject
·Comfortable using AutoCAD to produce drawings
·Experience working on roads/drainage projects
·Good organisational skills
