Senior Engineer - Highways
 
We are currently assisting a client on ours in London with their search for a Senior Engineer to help with the delivery of highways maintenance and improvement services. You will join an existing highway engineering team based in Central London where the delivery and design team are co-located.
 
The existing team is highly motivated and committed to the delivery of successful projects an ethos that has led to a rapidly expanding workload. The role will be varied and all-encompassing and will include a mix of hands-on highways design work and technical support to other members of the in-house design team. Candidates must have good, detailed design experience with a solid background on highway design projects.
 
What you will be doing:
 
·The delivery of multidisciplinary projects, balancing demands and priorities, whilst reviewing highways infrastructure design, from project proposition through to construction.
·Planning project resources and finances and monitor job financial performance.
·Preparing and reviewing technical reports, drawings, specification, and schedules.
·Providing construction support to construction team.
·Supervising and overseeing the work of engineers and graduates
 
What you will need to succeed:
 
·Relevant 1st Degree or HND/HNC (preferably in engineering) or equivalent qualifications
·Chartered or Incorporated Engineer with a relevant professional institution such as ICE or CIHT (or equivalent) or suitable relevant experience.
·Chartered Engineer 
·In-depth understanding of highways and traffic engineering techniques and principles and a proven track record in highways design and/or delivery
·Strong CAD/Civil 3D skills
·Use of Keylines & Key signs software's
·Ability to use Microsoft projects
·Good time management skills with the ability to prioritise your workload effectively
·Capability to work autonomously as well as collaborating within a team environment
·Comprehensive knowledge of relevant technical / industry standards
·Working knowledge of Legal and Regulatory Frameworks
·Working knowledge of NEC form of Contract, DMRB, MCHW, Traffic Signs Manual and TfL Streets toolkit.
·Experience and ability working on or managing multi-task projects. 
 
Previous experience in Highways is essential for this role.
