Highway Engineer
I'm currently looking to recruit an experienced Highway Engineer to join the busy design team of a private sector consultancy, based Watford.  My client provides Civil, Structural, Highways and Infrastructure design services for a wide range of design and build projects within Rail, Highway and Water sectors, amongst others, to both in-house and external clients.
As the Highway Engineer yoi will be responsible for assisting the highways design team in the delivery of a challenging range of projects for a variety of public and private sector clients. The breadth of projects the team work on requires a candidate with a sound grasp of the Design Manual for Roads and Bridges and associated best practice design guidance along with a working knowledge of appropriate software tools including AutoCAD, Civils 3D and Microdrainage.
 
The Role
·Undertake designs, drawings, specifications and supporting technical reports and other technical output to achieve project outcomes.
·Undertake site visits, surveys, and investigations.
·Ensure work is undertaken in compliance with Health & Safety and Environmental legislation.
·Maintain and increase knowledge of Standards & Codes of Practice.
·Participate in CPD activities to ensure skills remain relevant.
·Ensure work is undertaken in compliance with internal quality standards and processes.
 
The Ideal Candidate
·Experience in design and construction activities within the highway sector including drainage, pavement, and alignment design.
·Experience with S38, S278 works.
·Knowledge of Highways England standards such as the DMRB and MCHW and other relevant design standards
·Working knowledge of software design tools including Key Lines, Key Signs, Civils 3D, AutoCAD and MicroDrainage
