Planning Enforcement Officer
 
Carrington West's dedicated Town and Country Planning Recruitment Team operate UK wide and we are delighted to be assisting our client with their search for a Planning Enforcement Officer in the Kent area on an initial 3-6 month contract.
 
The Role
 
The successful candidate will manage their own case load of planning enforcement cases with minimal supervision and have an ability to manage own time and prioritise work load.
 
Minerals and Waste experience is desired for this role.
 
Duties
 
·To own case load of Enforcement cases
·Maintain accurate enforcement records
·Correspond with all parties involved in each case
·To understand planning acts and legislation to ensure correct guidance
·Serving summons notices, stop notices and enforcement notices
·Preparing evidence for hearings
·Liaise with legal department and appear in hearings as expert witness
·Attending site visits
·Giving advice on planning matters
·Preparing reports for committee
·Investigating breaches in planning control and non-compliance
·Ensuring applications comply with Town and Country Planning Legislation and local planning policies
·Entering into negotiations with agents with a positive approach
·Attending planning committee
·Work alongside Development Management to generate retrospective applications
 
Expertise
 
The ideal candidate will have a good knowledge of planning legislation relating to enforcement, a clear written and verbal communication skill set, experience with negotiating enforcement breaches, experience of site surveys and local hearings.
 
Qualifications
 
Due to the nature of the role the successful candidate will hold a relevant degree or diploma in Town and Country Planning or equivalent.
 
Rate up to £50p/h DOE
