Scheme Delivery Manager - Highways

Location: Suffolk

We are recruiting for an experienced Scheme Delivery Manager to join a long-term highways maintenance and improvement contract in Suffolk. This is a key role within a major infrastructure programme, delivering essential highway works across multiple schemes and workstreams.
The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and in line with health, safety, quality, and environmental standards.

Key Responsibilities
·Manage and maintain programmes for highways schemes, ensuring safe and timely delivery
·Coordinate labour, materials, plant, and subcontractors effectively
·Oversee health & safety on construction projects, ensuring Construction Phase Plans, method statements, and safe systems of work are in place
·Liaise with designers, network managers, stakeholders, and local communities
·Monitor and take responsibility for commercial performance in collaboration with commercial teams
·Maintain accurate site records including site diaries, progress reports, and as-built information
·Support the development of construction programmes, phasing plans, and method statements
·Build strong relationships with supply chain partners and subcontractors
·Support Early Contractor Involvement (ECI), buildability reviews, and Traffic Management planning
·Contribute to Value Management and Value Engineering processes
·Ensure full compliance with company QSE processes and reporting requirements

Requirements
·SMSTS or IOSH Managing Safely
·CSCS card
·Experience delivering highways or civil engineering schemes
·Strong knowledge of health & safety and programme management
·HNC / Degree qualification (desirable, not essential)
·Full UK driving licence
