Job description

We have an urgent requirement for a Drainage Maintenance Engineer to support our market leading client on drainage and highways resurfacing and maintenance schemes in the Wiltshire area.
 
The primary role is to ensure contract documentation is technically accurate and in accordance with current industry standards, support team members during the assessment of sections of carriageway drainage systems to ensure they are in good condition prior to resurfacing, liaison with client, public and local councillors, attend meetings, undertake programming duties and review contractor invoicing.
 
 
Qualifications

·A HNC, degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline
·Working towards Incorporated/Chartered status (or equivalent)
 
Essential Criteria

·Have a working knowledge and experience in highways and resurfacing methods
·Strong technical skills relating to the design of highway maintenance drainage schemes
·Sound working knowledge in creating scheme documentation and critically reviewing colleagues' work
·Applied knowledge of quality, safety and environmental processes
·IT skills (e.g. MS Office suite)
·Strong organisational, inter personnel and communication skills
·Full driving licence
 
Desirable Criteria

·Experience of Client liaison
·Experience of collaborative working with Contractors
·A working knowledge of New Roads & Streetworks Act 1991 and Traffic Management Act 2004
·Proactive, inclusive and collaborative attitude
 
Responsibilities

·To assist Engineers in the delivery of multi-location highway drainage and surfacing repairs from initial site inspections through to completion of construction works
·To work as part of a collaborative team with the Client, Contractor, Local Communities and Utility organisation 
·Assessment of CCTV footage to establish repair requirements and produce working documents to allow the repair of the systems prior to resurfacing
·To oversee, direct and mentor staff undertaking technical delivery
