Role: Contract Engineer - Thames Water
Location: Thames Water
Rate: £375 - £425 P/D - depending on experience. Inside IR35
Duration: 3+ years
 
Positions: 5
 
Bias: Electrical, Mechanical, ICA - with a basic understanding of all 3.
 
Are you a Mechanical, Electrical or ICA Engineer with experience coordinating between design, delivery and sub contractors?

A contract Engineer will be the person who ensures that all delivery partners of a site work in tandem and be that vital cog in the machine to oversee a scheme right through from original design through to completion and commissioning. being the middle man between design, commercial, delivery and sub contractors.
 
My client are a large tier 1 contractor in the UK who are expanding their teams all across the thames Water framework. They are looking to hire at least 5 contract engineers across the framework covering all of the above competencies. You will be reporting direct to the Project Manager and the Programme Lead.
 
We can look at candidate's with a strong bias however must be able to cover all MEICA aspects to an elementary degree.
 
My client have specified that they want people who will be looking to spend several years on a project. An ambitious individual can use this position to gain experience using their technical assets working towards a project manager position.
 
These positions have been created to coordinate and oversee the successful delivery of the AMP7 projects across London.
 
As a contract Engineer, You will be expected to:
 
- Evaluate technical documents and tenders from the design teams in order to ensure it accounts for live site conditions and use for physical integration.
 
- Coordinate with the design teams in order to rectify mistakes that ha0ven't been accounted for.
 
- Pick up and challenge tender documents with the commercial team after design phase to ensure the bids reflect as accurately as possible hats needed on site.
 
- Check specific information and competitor equipment including warranties, life cycle and long term maintenance costs.
 
- During the delivery phase be available on site in order to answer technical questions and lead sub contractors into the right way to deliver the projects.
 
- Provide support on site for site supervisors and commissioning engineers.
 
- Ensure all elements and partners of a scheme keep to time lines, chasing all aspects right through from design edits through to delivery times through to commissioning.
 
 
To be considered for this role you MUST
 
- Have held a similar position (Project Engineer, M&E Coordinator)
- be comfortable managing multiple supervisors, internal and external teams and sub contractors.
- Use your technical knowledge and expertise in MEICA to challenge any relevant parties and hold to account.
