Senior Commercial Manager - M&E
Bridgwater/Bristol
Contract (ongoing) Inside IR35
£675 per day
Our client are a leader within the UK Energy Sector who have a current requirement for a Senior Commercial Manager with experience working within an M&E environment, to join their established team based in Bridgwater or Bristol.
The successful Senior Commercial Manager will be responsible for contracts up to £100-£150m, leading junior commercial team members, and ensuring successful commercial delivery. This role is integral to the client's project Supply Chain Group and involves close collaboration with stakeholders across all project teams.
Responsibilities:
·Manage Commercial Managers and Assistants
·Oversee supplier relationships
·Ensure compliance with commercial procedures
·Develop and deliver Commercial/Contract Strategy
·Manage stakeholder engagement
·Handle dispute resolution and claims
·Define and implement benefits realisation plans
·Identify and manage contract and supplier risks
·Support procurement process and strategy development
·Lead and manage contract execution phase, ensuring alignment with other projects
·Oversee contract closeout phase
Deliverables:
·Operate according to IMS, rules, and procedures for contract administration
·Foster collaborative behaviours within the supply chain and team
·Manage contracting strategies and supplier selection
·Oversee the contract life cycle
·Ensure accurate monthly reporting and corrective actions
·Participate in risk management and identify contract-related risks and opportunities
·Manage cost control and change control processes
·Ensure cost transparency and timely final account agreements
·Apply best practices and lead improvement initiatives
Qualifications:
·Member of RICS, CIEC, IOB, or equivalent
·Degree in relevant subject(s)
·Experience with NEC & FIDIC contracts in the power construction industry
·Knowledge of UK law affecting contracts and commercial functions
·Strong commercial/contract management skills and decision-making abilities
·Understanding of contract performance measurement, risk, and change management
·Strong negotiation, influencing, and communication skills
