Are you a bridge design engineer with experience of working on Network Rail projects?
 
Are you looking for your next contract opportunity outside of IR35?
 
My client is looking for a bridge engineer with rail experience to join a small but growing civil engineering consultancy. They have various works treams at the moment and due to increased workloads are looking to increase their headcount. My client is looking for a engineer with excellent bridge design experience and ideally some one who is competent in temporary works as well.
 
Location: Surbiton - hybrid of home and office working
 
Rate: £35-£45(outside IR35) per hour dependant on experience and qualifications
 
Contract length: ongoing
 
Role responsibilities:
 
·Prepare detailed design documents including F001, F002 & F003 for Network Rail schemes
·Prepare detailed design calculations to Eurocode and British Standards for repairs and new build schemes
·Prepare assessment reports and calculations to BD21/01 and NR/GN/CIV/025 standards for bridge assessments
·Participate and lead inspection / examination works for assessments and repair scoping surveys
·Prepare Work Package Plans / SH&E plans in preparation for site works when required
 
Minimum Requirements
 
·Extensive experience with bridge inspection, assessments and design schemes
·Extensive experience in rail projects in the UK.
·Strong ability in various software packages ideally including LUSAS and MIDAS, with strong experience in Finite Element Analysis preferred
·Strong knowledge and experience of the following: Eurocode, British, Highways England and Network Rail Standards
·Strong experience in delivering bridge design through Network Rail and preferably Highways England standards
·Previous experience as a CRE and chartered is preferable
