Are you a Water Engineer, Technician, Scientist who has a basic understanding of relevant water engineering?
 
Are you looking for a contract role working on HS2?
 
Location: Working from home
Contract length: 6-18 months
Rate: dependant on experience
Hours: 40 hours a week
 
Job role:
 
This is a fantastic opportunity supporting a consultancy by helping them gain the regulation approvals needed to allow the construction of HS2. This mainly relates to getting approvals from the Environment Agency for the elements of HS2 impacting main rivers. Looking mainly at the surface water coming off
the rail line and new bridges over the water course.
 
The consents have been gotten in principal but they need to now be sent to the Environmental Agency.
 
This is a generalist role that would suit a graduate up to senior engineer who have a basic understanding of water engineering.
 
You will be given a template of how to type up the consent and input the given data, this would suit someone basic knowledge of water design and water modelling or someone that has worked with water companies or water regulations. This could include experience in flood risk, drainage, river bodies, water bodies, environmental agency, water design or water modelling.
 
 
Requirements
- The candidate should possess excellent communication skills, with particular reference to written work.
- Need a basic understanding of relevant water engineering practice in England.
- Level of experience is from graduate to senior level technical discipline, e.g scientist, technician, engineer.
- This will be a contract appointment - initially set at 6 months, but likely the placement with last for 12, if not, 18 months.
- Working day is 8 hours from Monday to Friday each week.
- Needs to work remotely.
