Are you looking for a an excellent opportunity to work as a Rail Transport Planner within a large multidisciplinary consultancy who are involved in exciting local and international projects?

Join my client's Rail & Public Transport team based in Cardiff working across a varied range of regional and UK investment projects.

You will be part of a team undertaking a full range of challenging and varied work in the planning, design and implementation of public transport and rail schemes, working for a number of public sector clients on projects, in Wales and the rest of the UK.
 
This role is permanent and offering a competitive salary.
 
Responsibilities:
oTo investigate transport problems, formulate policies, schemes and strategies, and evaluate solutions.
oTo assist with rail and public transport demand forecasting and scheme appraisal in accordance with Transport Appraisal Guidance.
oTo assist in the preparation of technical reports including business cases, transport strategies, scheme development and consultation reports.
oTo support consultation including assisting stakeholder presentations and public consultation exercises and writing consultation reports.
oThe ability to work to deadlines and targets to meet the requirements of programmes of work, to meet clients' needs.
oTo assist in bid work.

What we're looking for:
oBachelors or Masters degree in a relevant subject
oMembership and working towards Chartered Membership of relevant professional institution          
oAround 2-3 years relevant transport planning experience and thorough understanding of appropriate transport planning principles and practice
oInterest in working in the Rail and Public transport sector
oProven report writing skills
oUse of Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
