Transport Planner or Senior Transport Planner
 
My client is a well established and highly respected Transportation & Infrastructure Consultancy and they have an opportunity for a Transport Planner or Senior Transport Planner to join their friendly and supportive team in London. Candidates will need to be able to demonstrate their development planning experience and have an understanding of the transport challenges facing major towns and cities.
 
Candidates will require:
 
·A relevant degree (e.g. Geography, Civil Engineering, Urban Design)
·Good written and verbal communication skills.
·Strong numeracy and analytical skills
·Experience of the transport related documents that accompany planning applications
·Proficient in some or all of LINSIG, ARCADY, PICADY & GIS.
·Proactive, enthusiastic and care about the detail.
 
You will be working to produce transport assessments and associated analysis with some or all of the following experience:
 
·Production of detailed transport assessments, technical notes, Travel Plans, Delivery and Servicing Plans and Construction Logistics Plans.
·An understanding of and experience of producing healthy streets Transport Assessments and Active Travel Zone Assessments.
·General knowledge of the Design Manual for Roads and Bridges.
·The analysis of development effects on road and junction capacity.
·Management of small and medium scale projects.
·Development of access strategies for all modes.
 
The Main Duties and Responsibilities:
·Attending technical meetings with clients, design teams and public authorities.
·Working closely with senior members of staff in the winning & delivery of work.
·Support and work with junior members of staff on the preparation of figures for reports, swept path assessment, analysis of data, and drawings of transport improvements including junction designs.
·An interest in developing client contacts and learning business development skills.
·Required to liaise with other professionals including architects and town planners as well as client and local authorities, and hence must have good interpersonal and communication skills.
·Resolve problems or issues to support the delivery of projects or design objectives.
 
The successful candidate will benefit from internal training on a range of transport planning skills and attend courses & seminars presented by Urban Design London and external training providers. You will be involved in a wide variety of exciting development projects and play a crucial role as a valued member of a busy commercially-focused team with an expanding workload.
