Job description

This is an outstanding opportunity for an experience Transport Modeller to play a key role in a growing traffic and transportation business. Our client undertakes transport planning studies and developing traffic and transportation schemes for public and private sector clients. They have established a strong reputation for producing high quality traffic modelling for a variety of purposes and have a good track record in developing innovative methodologies and solutions.
 
The transport / traffic modelling role will primarily involve leading the development of local and microsimulation traffic models, supported by the existing traffic modelling team, providing a technical leadership role within the team, and contributing to the future growth of the business. Our client is currently engaged on several very high-profile and challenging projects for key clients and there would be the opportunity to become involved in these projects directly and play a pivotal role in their delivery. REQUIREMENTS:
It is essential that you have:
·A good skill level and experience of using LinSig and microsimulation software (VISSIM would be of particular benefit).
·A good level of professional work experience, with London experience highly desirable.
·A good standard relevant degree, or a post graduate qualification in transport planning or a suitable level of professional experience to demonstrate capability.
·A working knowledge of industry modelling guidance and an understanding of calibration and validation techniques.
·A high standard of numeracy.
·Good written and spoken English.
·Proficiency with MS Office software and Excel in particular.
·Additionally, the following skills / experience would be considered beneficial:
·Experience of TfL's Model Auditing Process
·Project management
 
Experience with other software packages, i.e.:
·TRL TRANSYT
·PARAMICS
·PTV VISUM
·SATURN
·AIMSUN
