An opportunity has arisen for a Traffic Engineer or Senior Traffic Engineer with experience in scheme design and delivery to join a client in Oxford, working on various schemes.
Your main duties include supporting in the designing and delivery a range of public realm / highway improvement schemes, active travel and cycling projects across the area as well as other traffic engineering related programmes.
This is a full-time contract position. The rate on offer is £35 - £40 per hour. Flexible working is on offer for the role.
 
The Role
·Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement traffic engineering solutions that address congestion, safety, and mobility challenges.
·Using AutoCAD to design a range of highways and public realm improvement schemes including footways, control crossings, signalised intersections, roundabouts.
·Carrying out feasibility studies in relation to cycling and sustainable transport schemes.
·Delivering projects and programmes of works across the area.
·Conduct traffic impact assessments for proposed developments and provide recommendations for optimizing traffic flow and safety.
·Stay updated on industry best practices, standards, and emerging technologies in traffic engineering.
·Liaise with government agencies, stakeholders, and clients to present findings and propose solutions.
 
The Ideal Candidate
·Ideally degree qualified in a related engineering field, relevant experience is considered in lieu of this.
·4+ years of experience in a similar role.
·Proficiency with AutoCAD.
·Happy to visit site.
·Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and draw meaningful conclusions.
·Familiarity with relevant transportation standards, guidelines, and regulations.
·Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively convey technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
·Experience with sustainable transportation solutions and active transportation planning is a plus.
