Job description

Carrington West are assisting their local authority client based on the South Coast in their search for a Town Planning Technician (GIS and Graphics Coordinator) within the Town Planning department. This will be offered on an initial 3-month contract, then rolling.

The main purpose of the job is to provide specialist technical support including GIS and Graphics to professional officers in the Planning Service. Your work will include the production of documents, plans/maps and other illustrative material; the collection, processing, mapping, analysing and management of data utilising appropriate software packages, including GIS mapping; and preparing presentation material for meetings and web publication to support the work of the service.

We are looking for someone with proven digital design skills, with an aptitude for handling data and information with precision and understanding.  
Knowledge of the work of a local planning authority and the planning system would be an advantage, and you will need to have good communication and customer care skills. It would be beneficial to have experience within record management, interpreting plans and maps, using GIS software and working within a customer focused information service.
 

Carrington West Pay Rate - £20per/hour (DOE)
