My client in Buckinghamshire is requiring an experienced Policy Planning Specialist with prior management experience within an LPA.
 
My client is looking for someone to start as soon as possible, and are looking to pay £465 per day for this position.
Responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):
- To effectively lead, manage and develop a highly motivated, agile, skilful and results-driven Planning Policy Team that delivers an efficient, high quality, resilient and customer focused Planning Policy Team to the residents of Buckinghamshire ensuring all members of the team work together and efficiently in producing the required Planning Policy advice and relevant documents.
- To manage the development of the Council's Local Plan, Policy document (SPD's DPD's, Design guides etc) and other strategic planning policies as required.
- To drive service change including the development and implementation of an agile and capable Planning Policy Team adopting new ways of working, more flexibly to better meet customer needs, increase productivity; improve service delivery and deliver efficiencies, and drive cultural change programme in line with Councils' strategic objectives.
- The role will be responsible for the performance management of the Planning Policy Team across the whole of the Buckinghamshire Council area and will work collaboratively with the rest of the Development Management to provide strategic direction and vision for the service to all stakeholders.
- In the case of large, long running programmes such as the Local Plan, this role will require leadership, project planning and overall delivery, with the members of the team focusing on the detail to meet the delivery deadlines.
- The role will require a close working relationship with the Planning Policy Team Leader to ensure that the new Local Plan and associated policy documents meet all statutory requirements alongside any relevant national and Council policies and best practice.
- The role will require the job holder to provide advice, prepare reports and brief elected Members as appropriate, including representation at Cabinet and Council when required.
 
To be successful in this position you MUST BE:
·A Qualified Town Planner with significant experience within a Local Authority Planning Department
