Job Advertisement: Surfacing Supervisor
 
Salary: £45,000-£58,000 + Car
 
We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Surfacing Supervisor to join our team. As a Surfacing Supervisor, you will play a crucial role in effectively implementing and promoting our company's health and safety policy, supervising surfacing works, and assisting the Contracts Manager in the day-to-day management and delivery of projects.
 
Key Responsibilities:
 
Manage and comply with all health and safety requirements.
Prepare workplace task hazard identification (SSRA & DJB).
Update the Daily Job Brief (DJB) on a daily basis and communicate any changes to the team.
Update Safe System of Work Risk Assessment (SSRA) if there are any changes from the original assessment.
Ensure compliance with individual competencies and challenge unsafe behavior/attitudes at all levels.
 
Planning:
Understand project programs and outputs to forward plan works for allocated schemes.
Produce a three-week forward program for the Contracts Manager, including material, labor, and plant requirements.
Actively monitor the progress of work programs and provide updates as necessary.
Maximize resource usage through proactive planning and resource sharing.
 
Operational:
Conduct necessary layer tests and record results.
Complete daily diaries and submit them.
Complete Labor, Plant, and Material (L, P & M) returns.
Complete Material & Resource Forecast Sheets.
Sign sub-contractor measure/timesheets with comments.
Maintain regular communication with the client regarding site activities.
Complete End of Visit Inspection forms after each visit.
Raise Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and provide supporting information.
Review the Daily Diary Sheet to ensure correct materials and resources.
Review operational procedures with the team to develop best practices.
Manage operations to ensure the best use of resources.
Manage Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) with foremen and site team.
Fully implement operational excellence ethos with the site team and foremen.
 
Commercial:
Capture all costs and potential value streams.
Liaise closely with commercial and QS teams to enhance the value of contracts.
Investigate workmanship Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs).
Attend supervisors meetings.
 
Manage direct reports (Foremen) regarding absenteeism, objective setting, and performance reviews.
Set objectives and undertake annual Personal Development Reviews.
 
Key Skills:
 
Mandatory:
CSCS certification.
Desirable:
SMSTS certification.
NVQ level qualifications.
