Job Summary:
The company is currently seeking a skilled and motivated Surfacing Estimator to join their team in Sittingbourne, UK. The Surfacing Estimator will be responsible for providing accurate and competitive estimates for various surfacing projects. This role plays a vital part in ensuring the successful execution of road construction, pavement resurfacing, asphalt laying, and other surfacing initiatives. Key Responsibilities:
·Estimate Preparation: The Surfacing Estimator will be responsible for preparing comprehensive and detailed estimates for surfacing projects, considering factors such as material costs, labour expenses, equipment usage, and project requirements.
 
·Cost Analysis: Conducting cost analysis, the Surfacing Estimator will carefully assess project elements to determine accurate project costs and ensure competitiveness in the bidding process.
 
·Supplier and Contractor Liaison: Collaborating with suppliers and contractors, the Surfacing Estimator will obtain competitive quotes and negotiate pricing to optimize project budgets.
 
·Project Documentation: Maintaining organized documentation of all estimates, contracts, and relevant project information, the Surfacing Estimator will facilitate clear communication and smooth project execution.
 
·Project Coordination: Working closely with the project management team, the Surfacing Estimator will review and refine estimates based on project changes or new information.
 
·Cost Optimization: The Surfacing Estimator will be expected to suggest cost-effective alternatives or value engineering options to enhance project efficiency and maintain competitiveness.
 
·Market Research: Staying updated with industry trends, materials, and technologies, the Surfacing Estimator will continuously improve estimating accuracy and market competitiveness.
 
 
Qualifications and Experience:
- The ideal candidate should possess a minimum of one year of experience in surfacing estimating or a related field.
- Knowledge of surfacing materials, techniques, and industry best practices is required.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail are essential for providing accurate estimates.
- Proficiency in using estimating software and tools will be beneficial.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills are necessary for effective collaboration with suppliers, contractors, and internal teams.
