Role: Road Surfacing Contracts Manager
 
Location: Bedfordshire
 
About the company 
 
We are an independent company offering a regional road surfacing, reinstatement and civil's service. Its Management Team have together over 50 years' experience of working for Local Authorities including; - Bedford Borough Council - Buckingham County Council - Central Bedfordshire Council - Essex County Council - Hertfordshire County Council - London Borough of Barnet - London Borough of Brent - London Borough of Harringey - Stevenage Borough Council Both as Main Contractors and Sub-Contractors. We are currently working within the public & private sector within the Three Counties & Cambridgeshire areas. The company is well-appointed to carry out reinstatement and civil reinstatement works and can provide innovative use of recycled sub base materials as well as traditional surfacing macadams and asphalts.

The Role
 
·To manage a team of Supervisors to ensure we provide professional and reliable customer service whilst maintaining a safe working site. Working closely with Management and the Operations Team to ensure contracts are completed on time, within budget and to the client's satisfaction.

·To support the business in achieving Health and Safety excellence through compliance checking,
·leading by example and identifying training needs
· 
·You will also ensure the company's Management Systems, procedures, processes and objectives are fully understood, adhered to by all on site and achieved.
 
Responsibilities
 
·Plan and programme projects, contracts and jobs ensuring they are scheduled to a level of detail to deliver the scheme to cost without delays
 
·Ensure projects and contracts are carried out in accordance with Company procedures to best value and prevent delays
 
·Attend tender handover meetings as and when required
 
·Set high standards of leadership in promotion of HS&E procedures and best practice, ensuring compliance with Company procedures and legal obligations
·Effectively manage Supervisors to ensure daily, weekly & monthly paperwork is completed in a timely manner
 
·Provide a professional and reliable service to 'The Client' at all times, including consultation during the Construction Phase Planning, attending site / project meetings where applicable and conducting and actioning snagging and final measurements where appropriate
 
·Review programme to plan the following day/week making any changes necessary to ensure the business operates as efficiently as possible
·Assist the business to achieve and maintain our ISO:9001, 45001 and NHSS16 certification
