SOFTWARE ENGINEER (TRANSMISSION AND DISTRIBUTION)

We currently have a requirement for a Software Engineer within the Transmission & Distribution sector.
In all aspects of the systems development lifecycle, the successful candidate will be involved-specification, design, programming, testing, installation, and commissioning. Their responsibilities will extend from configuring multiple instances of existing solutions to developing new ones for clients based on basic requirements. Tasks encompass database configuration, coding, application engineering, hardware interface, system testing, and commissioning. Additionally, the role involves client visits for meetings and surveys, along with the potential for overseas travel for training courses and partner integrations.
Requirements (Essential):
·Competence in the use of a PC and management of electronic files/folders
·Good knowledge of databases
·Understanding of SCADA/HMIs and control systems
·Experienced coder in any of the following: C++, C#, JAVA, VB
·Ability to learn how to configure and navigate new products with manuals and online support
·Ability to research ideas/products to identify suitability for a solution
·Successful completion of all assigned tasks to plan and in line with company procedures and standards
·Team player with drive and tenacity, willing to learn
·Confident and effective communication with colleagues and customers
·Adherence to good health and safety practices within Capula and customer sites
Requirements (Desirable):
·Electrical Engineering knowledge
·Knowledge of electrical principles (Power calculations, etc.)
·Ideally, GE equipment knowledge or Copa-data Zenon SCADA
·Experience with substation control systems
·Good research skills
·Current driving license
