Site Supervisor- Highways
As a Site Supervisor you will join a team delivering a programme of highway improvement schemes across Somerset County.
This will include the supervision of road safety schemes, pedestrian, and cycle route upgrades as well as many other highway related projects.
You will liaise with our customers, designers, and supply chain to deliver best value for our client whilst ensuring the highest standards of health, safety and quality of work are met on site.
 As a Site Supervisor your duties & responsibilities will be:
·Supervision of designated projects to time and budgetary targets.
·Management of Health, Safety and Environmental procedures including input to construction phase health and safety plans and checking of sub-contractors' procedures and documentation to ensure all necessary controls are in place prior to commencement of works.
·Ensure that site personnel are checked as competent and fully trained to undertake the work activities.
·Delivery of on-site daily briefings and Toolbox Talks.
·Involvement in value management and engineering including early contractor involvement and liaison with Client Project Managers and Designers.
·Compliance with Contract performance requirements and recording/collation/provision of accurate site records and "as-built" information.
·Maintain accurate records including Site Diaries and Change/Compensation Events.
·Liaison with Client Officers and other stakeholders.
·Dealing with Customer enquiries and complaints to ensure that Customer Satisfaction is continually improved.
 Skills & Knowledge Requirements:
·Proven track record in management or supervision of construction projects.
·Leadership of Health and Safety.
·Knowledge and experience of relevant standards including DMRB and SHW.
·Detailed understanding of health and safety management and the requirements of CDM Regulations.
·Experience of Cable Avoidance in construction.
·Will hold SMSTS or SSSTS qualifications and have a relevant CSCS Card
·Management of sub-contractors.
·Proficient IT skills, including MS project and Excel
