Role: Service Coordinator (Permit to Dig)
Location: London/South East
Salary: Up to £35,000 p/a dependent on experience.
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
 
My client, who is one of the biggest engineering and utility services in the UK, is looking for a Service Coordinator to join their growing team.
 
Your responsibilities will include:
 
·To ensure the existence of an effective working practice for the project environment and that full auditable reconciliation has been secured and approved between the company and client defined standards and processes.
·Ensure a full 3D utility survey has been carried out prior to site start up as a firm basis for an SME process.
·Ensure an update regime has been established and approved with the client that delivers stats reconciled live SME drawings with design overlay for permit use
·Ensure formal written appointment of all service locators and that they have received correct training and also have the relevant certificates with copies held on site.
·Ensure service locators fully understand clients/system owners' standards, processes and requirements.
·Verify all received drawings and CAD files for latest as-built/as-removed data information and reports any anomalies accordingly.
·Manage production of permits to excavate and as-built/as-removed information in line with the SME procedure.
·Create an on-line Permit to Excavate Register for the management of project permits
·Review all method statements and risk assessments for working near or adjacent to live buried services.
·Approval of all permits to excavate.
·Ensures that all necessary authorisations have been obtained before work commences.
·Ensures that the required safe working distances have been authorised by the relevant system owners.
·Ensures that the work is carried out in accordance with the method statements and that there is a safe system of work operating in that area that is adequately supervised.
·Ensures that the routes of all critical services which cross the site are permanently visibly marked to avoid accidental damage and that crossing points are specially protected and clearly marked.  Ensures that work is stopped if circumstances require changes to working methods, sequence or equipment, and have method statements and risk assessment re-assessed.
·Assist in the identification of uncharted services where requested and ensures the information is co-ordinated and SME is updated.
·Ensures that all site services that are live, newly installed or redundant are fully co-ordinated and shown on the SME.
·Chair weekly GASH (graphic as-built survey history), or similar, meetings.
·Close out of Permit to Excavate Ground following submission of as-installed data to CAD co-ordinator and Designers once SME is updated.
·Carry out weekly site compliance checks.
·Support the project manager in project procedure compliance by assisting site audits.
·Health, Safety & Welfare: Manage health and safety provision and ensure strict compliance by all survey team members
·Employee Development: Participate on an as required basis to any training needs analysis and performance reviews
 
Skills/Experience:
Essential:
 
·This can be a fast-paced environment that changes quickly, so candidates need to be able to adapt to change and prioritising workloads.
·We want somebody who can multi-task, be adaptable and become a valuable member of our team.
·A minimum of 3 years' relevant experience.
·A good understanding of common industry practices and standards with regards to utility detection, such as PAS 128 and TSA.
·God working knowledge of surveying equipment, such as GPR, CAT and Genny utility detection equipment.
·Able to work collaboratively in a team and deal with clients on site.
·Clean & Full Driving License.
·Right to Work in UK & English speaking.
·CSCS Card holder (this will be required before starting work).
 
Desirable:
 
·GPR Post Processing Experience.
·AutoCAD / N4CE experience.
·Topographical Surveying Experience.
·Laser Scanning Experience.
·QCF Level 3 or Level 5 for utility mapping.
