Role: Senior Water Quality Consultant
Location: Wokingham
Salary: Up to £40,000 p/a depending on experience + company car or car allowance
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
 
Are you a Water Quality Consultant looking for your next challenge within a leading Water & Ecology team?
 
Reporting to the Water Quality Manager, you will be supporting the coordination and delivery of routine and ad hoc water quality monitoring programmes and overseeing field-based sampling and collection of environmental samples for laboratory analysis.
 
You will also be supporting the wider team to deliver a range of ecological projects, including field surveys and reporting duties, as well as responding to pollution incidents as and when needed.
 
The ideal candidate will be based within 3 hours of Wokingham as projects are based across the Midlands and the South of England.
 
Weekly contractual hours are 35 per week, with daily hours being 9am - 5pm, 5 days per week, with a 1 hour lunch break each day.
 
 
Skills:
·Hold a degree in a relevant science-related discipline;
·Understanding of water chemistry;
·Awareness of the available water pollution remediation techniques;
·Knowledgeable & experienced in scientific fieldwork.
·A willingness to travel throughout the UK and Ireland, to work away and to work long days when required;
·Knowledge & experience of biological water quality indicators such as aquatic macroinvertebrate and/or fisheries surveys;
·Understanding of the role of regulators such as the Environment Agency;
·An understanding of the role of laboratory analysis in environmental monitoring
·A full and clean UK Driver's License is essential.
