Job description

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a successful fibre company in Penrith Cumbria. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and growing a team of two Junior Quantity surveyors and overseeing all aspects of the quantity surveying function within your projects.

Key Responsibilities:
·Manage and mentor two Junior QS's, providing guidance and support as required
·Oversee and manage all aspects of the quantity surveying function within the organization, ensuring accurate cost management and budget control
·Attend site visits and liaise with field teams and management
·Produce accurate and timely reports, including cost plans, valuations, and final accounts
·Identify and manage commercial risks and opportunities
·Establish and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and suppliers
·Provide expert advice and guidance on all commercial and contractual matters
·Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, regulations, and standards
·Contribute to the development and implementation of best practice policies and procedures
 
Requirements:
·Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor, with a track record of successfully managing and mentoring teams
·Full driving licence
·Strong knowledge of all aspects of quantity surveying, including cost management, budget control, and contract administration
·Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to establish and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders
·Ability to travel to the office between 3 and 5 days per week
·Experience in Fibre, Telecoms, Civils or Utilities preferable
·Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail
·Relevant professional qualifications, such as RICS or CIOB
·Experience in the construction industry, particularly in the civil engineering and infrastructure sectors
·Knowledge of NEC3/NEC4 and JCT contracts
