Are you a P6 planner with extensive experience working on large rail infrastructure projects?
 
Have you previously worked for a consultancy undertaking planning for design stages of a project?
 
Rate: £390-£460 day umbrella
 
Contract length: ongoing
 
Location: Birmingham - currently working from home but maybe future requirements to visit Birmingham office
 
My client have a contract vacancy for a Senior Design Planner with experience of planning large complex transportation projects and have prepared programmes and have knowledge of Signalling, Telecoms, E&P,  Track, Ancillary Civils  and understands the activities links between disciplines.
 
The successful applicant will be the facilitator providing programme support to the project teams and to the client.
 
The role is full time (40 hours per week) and can be based in Birmingham. Hours are flexible whether based in the office or home - a mixture of both is envisaged.
 
Requirements
 
·A good understanding of transportation technologies mainly in Signalling Systems, Telecoms, E&P, Track, Ancillary Civils
·Previous experience working for a consultancy in design phases
·An excellent working knowledge of Primavera P6 and MS excel using advances formulas is essential.
·Experience of developing multi-disciplinary (cost and resource loaded) baseline schedules in consultation with stake holders and managing the resulting interfaces.
·This role requires the Planner to carry out their Project Control duties with limited supervision, and work under their own initiative in the production of Project Programmes and Tender Programmes.
·A good understanding of performance analysis data and CPI/SPI/EV information.
·A good understanding of Project Controls Techniques including, budget and spend profiles, change control, Earned Value Management, data analysis, trend analysis and Work Package Management.
·Experience of working on design Projects.
·Member of the APM preferred.
