Senior Highway Engineer
 
An exciting new opportunity has arisen for a Highways Engineering professional to join our client's expanding offices in London. Due to ongoing success in the Highways and Transportation sectors and some major client wins 2020 has been a great year with 2021 set to be a year of significant growth!
 
As the successful Senior Highways Engineer you will be working on a range of schemes within the industry, in a team of Engineering professionals enabling you to advance your career and develop your skill set.

The role
 
·The design and documentation of civil infrastructure components of the projects, including but not limited to highway design at concept, preliminary and detailed stages.
·Conduct any liaison or consultation with statutory authorities and undertakers as necessary to facilitate the project
·To provide engineering support in the management and delivery of the service to clients
·Production and checking of documentation, drawings (AutoCAD) and reports
·Ensure appropriate health, safety and welfare standards are maintained  
·Communicating with suppliers, clients, contractors, the public and other engineers
·Support other employees with technical advice on highway engineering projects
·Provide technical excellence and advice to clients
·Ensuring that all projects are delivered to right quality, on time and to budget
·Support staff with their training and development
·Develop and encourage innovation across the project life cycle
 
The ideal candidate
 
·Accredited degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent)
·Ideally a minimum of 5 years relevant experience and ability to multi-task
·Experience and in depth understanding of highway and engineering design, technical design standards ( eg DMRB, MCHW, TYSRGD) and best practice
·Knowledge of engineering design, related legislation, contract procurement and contract administration
·Good experience of health and safety, CDM and risk management
·Good project management skills and financial management
·NEC3/NEC4 experience
·Evidence showing continuous professional development
