Job description

Are you an Engineer with a background in ground investigations? do you have a degree in Earth Sciences?
 
My client is a market leading railway contractor with expertise in railway civils projects, they have a fantastic reputation for quality and have a huge presence in both England and Scotland. They have an exciting range of ground investigation and geology projects and are looking for a Senior Engineer to join the team.
 
Location: North West/Scotland
Length: Permanent
Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 DOE
 
 
Requirements:
·Degree qualification in Geology, Engineering Geology, Geotechnical Engineering or Earth Science related subject.
·PTS Card
·Experience of current Soil Description to BS5930, and knowledge of testing requirements BS1377
·Knowledge of and experience with soil logging software, AGS formats.
·CSCS
 
Day to Day Duties:
·Project Manage the delivery of Ground Investigation / Site Inspection projects.
·Prepare ground investigation tenders and support the tendering process when required, including the use of specialist software (e.g. BGS)
·Working with the buying team to ensure that materials, equipment, plant and subcontractor's are considered during tender are identified and procured in advance of works
·Manage, implement and complete site logs and diaries during the works, ensuring sign off on completion, and forward to the managing QS
·Assess potential issues from the specification, schedules or drawings in conjunction with Construction Site Managers.
 
As a senior Engineer you will be responsible for correctly interpreting ground investigation specifications and ensuring project is ran to schedule whilst maintaining national standards throughout.
