Role: Senior Engineer / Sub Agent
Location: Chorley
Pay: £350-£400 per day inside IR35.
Duration: On going contract or perm role
 
My client, a leading contractor in the water sector are looking for an experienced senior site engineer or Sub Agent to join them for their AMP7 projects. A large on-going project which will involve the placement and piling around a new retention tank, experience on water, piling and treatment sites would be advantageous.
 
Main purpose of role
 
As a senior engineer / sub agent you will be responsible for the management of the construction site in order to achieve required project delivery to the customers' objectives, while maintaining standards of health and safety, quality, environmental impact and cost control.
 
Main responsibilities of the role will include but are not limited to:  
·Ensuring accurate implementation of all engineering controls and compliance with the contract drawings and specification
·Producing risk assessments and method statements for safe execution of the works
·Ensuring work is executed in a safe manner meeting legal guidelines set out in health safety and requirements and environmental compliance
·Manage site activities to ensure work is completed on time and within budget
·Manage resources to ensure work is completed to site goals and systems requirements
 
Skills and experience required
 
·Relevant industry qualification (HND/HNC/BEng or equivalent)
·Relevant CSCS card
·SMSTS card
·Experience in the water sector
·Hands on approach to the commercial and planning aspects of the project
·Civil engineering and construction experience
·Able to challenge designs and resolve problems to conclusion
·Good project management, communication and financial management skills
·Sound knowledge of construction methods, health and safety, and legal regulations
·Excellent communication and people and team management skills
·Excellent organisational, planning and time management skills; able to manage projects simultaneously without compromising on standards and quality
 
Ideal candidates will haver their water tickets, SMSTS or SSSTS, Temporary works, AP for cranes / lifting.
