Senior Drainage Engineer
 
Our client is looking for a Senior Drainage Engineer to join their growing team in Woodstock.
 
The successful candidate will have a fantastic opportunity to work on a variety of projects, generally in the residential sector.
 
Responsibilities of the role:
·Leading the civil engineering design on projects in the office.
·Design of infrastructure for residential schemes (single dwellings, flats and multi-unit developments) including SuDS drainage systems, build-ups for roads, and hard landscaping schemes
·Liaison with statutory bodies such as Thames Water, Local Highways Departments, Local Authority SuDS Officers, and Environment Agency
·Ensure that quality and consistency of technical output (drawings, reports etc) are maintained.
·Attend design meetings, and site meetings and carry out site inspections.
·Work on projects with consideration to the agreed project budgetary limits and timetables
·Reporting to the Directors, this role will provide management of the infrastructure design aspects of projects and to ensure all projects are delivered to programme quality and budget.
·You will also need to develop internal team relationships and provide support to train staff and develop their individual skills.
·Key to this role is the ability to provide a client-focused service which results in ongoing satisfaction and repeat business.
 
Requirements of the role:
·Varied experience in the use of: Sewers for Adoption, 7th Edition; CIRIA SuDS Manual; The National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF); DMRB /SHW
·Software experience - FLOW, AutoCAD ( Civils 3D & Vehicle Tracking)
·Excellent report writing, communication, and numerical skills required
·Ability to prepare fee proposals based on number of hours to complete activities.
·To be able to undertake business development to win new business and generate new sources of work for a growing civil engineering department at OMK.
·To be commercially aware and able to lead a team of engineers and technicians, to programme workloads and successfully deliver projects to time, budget and quality.
·To be able to produce and have knowledge in the design of highways, access roads and infrastructure of projects including the design of road geometry, earthworks, pavements, drainage, and underground services.
·Detailed knowledge of drainage design including piped systems, SuDS based systems familiar with storage design and computer programs such as FLOW.
·To have experience in the preparation of Contract Drawings and Specifications and the negotiation of Section 38, 278, 104 and 106 Agreements
·To be able to forecast resource requirements.
