Job description

Are you a Quantity Surveyor looking to accelerate your career on a major civil infrastructure programme?

Do you want exposure to complex commercial challenges, high-value packages, and senior decision-making early in your career?

Salary: £50,000 to £65,000 plus London weighting allowance.
Location: Essex, office attendance minimum of 3 days per week.

You’ll be joining a specialist commercial consultancy providing high-quality commercial and planning support to some of the UK’s most significant infrastructure schemes. The leadership team is made up of highly respected industry figures who have held senior commercial roles on landmark civil engineering projects.

As a result, the business is trusted to take on commercially critical roles where strong judgement, robust NEC knowledge and proactive commercial management genuinely matter. You’ll work closely with senior practitioners and gain exposure to change control, compensation events and NEC contract administration on complex, high-value schemes.

Essential requirements

  • Previous Quantity Surveying experience within major civil engineering or infrastructure programmes (typically 4+ years’ experience)
  • Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying or a relevant discipline
  • Experience working for a main or principal contractor (subcontractor backgrounds also considered)
  • Working knowledge of NEC3 or NEC4 contracts
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with confidence producing client-facing reports
  • Strong commercial awareness and the ability to contribute quickly within a delivery-focused environment
  • A proactive, detail-focused mindset with a commitment to professional development

Additional information

  • This is a permanent position with long-term progression opportunities
  • The selection process includes two to three interview stages, with a face-to-face interview forming part of the process

This is a rare opportunity to develop deep commercial and contractual capability early in your career, working alongside senior professionals on genuinely high-impact infrastructure projects.
