Quality Engineer (Site Based) / Nuclear / Dorset

Fixed Term - Competitive salary & benefits package


Main duties:

Reviewing of Quality Plan(s) 

Reviewing and ensuring implementation of site Inspection Test Plans (ITPs)

Pre-population of on-site quality documentation checklists ahead of scheduled inspections 

Reviewing of subcontractor pre-qualification documentation to ensure compliance against listed requirements ahead of final review & sign-off. 

Logging of inspections & reports within the company IMS system & uploading them onto the client portal for lifetime records. 

Writing up of accounts on behalf of the Site Quality Manager 

Review and Inspection of site materials to ensure compliance with relevant material standards 

Ensuring project-specific actions / procedures / work instructions/forms are implemented to cover any additional project requirements

Auditing project activities to ensure the project-specific arrangements are adequately implemented

Ensuring the approach is appropriate to the scope of supply, e.g. COTS, MOTS, bespoke engineering

Attend occasional off-site material inspections

Work closely with the Area Construction Management and attend team meetings.

Reviewing and checking of calibration certificates for site equipment 


Skills/experience required:

Member of the Chartered Quality Institute (or willing to work towards)

IRCA Accredited Lead Auditor qualification

Experience in quality assurance activities in the manufacturing/construction, installation, and commissioning industry

Previous experience of working on live construction sites

Working knowledge of ISO 9001 management systems with experience of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 is desirable.

Strong analytical and interpersonal skills

Working knowledge of MS Office suite

Understanding of CDM safety regulations & requirements
