Are you a quality assurance engineer with experience working on rail projects?
Do you have knowledge of Network Rail Standard 019 Briefing Materials?
Pay Rate: £350-£400 umbrella
Location: Birmingham or Manchester - 50 percent office and home based, 50 percent site
Contract length: 6 months +
This role will be reporting to an Assurance Manager and role will be to work with a suite of 12 self assurance documents. Ensuring work is being carried out in line with assurance portfolio so will be a mixture of site based and office based.
Teams audited on this every period. Compliance reported up to regional execs. Essential that compliance is achieved across the board.
Day to day:
- Lead the implementation of new processes and systems to achieve consistent application.
- Undertake assurance activities (audit, review and end product checks) to verify compliance with the defined systems, processes and assurance framework.
- Undertake detailed sampling of deliverables to verify compliance with Network Rail company standards, technical specifications and the requirements of the quality management system.
- Manage compliance with requirements for work definition, specification and design including the identification of non-compliances.
- Analyse information to identify problem areas for management action.
- Identify and report to Senior Assurance Engineer any resource or competency issues that need to be managed (by others) to improve the levels of compliance.
- Lead and support the implementation of improvement plans and other initiatives including the promotion of good practice.
- Coach and mentor others on the application of processes, systems, assurance and the quality requirements for the end product.
- Support the accurate and timely reporting of information that supports Key performance indicators.
Criteria:
- 019 standard knowledge is essential
- Previous experience in the rail industry
- Strong experience managing assurance and compliance activities
- Experience of HSQE (NEBOSH, IOSH)
- Microsoft Office Suite experience - maintaining charts, graphs.
- Ability to coach and mentor and strong people and interpersonal skills
