The role: Mechanical Project Manager - Water Sector
Location: St. Albans or Wokingham
Pay: up to £250 P/D - Umbrella
Duration: 6 Months with an option to go Permanent
Schedule: 42 Hours per week Monday to Friday + Opportunity for overtime
 
Are you looking for your next opportunity as a mechanical project manager in the water sector?
Do you have experience in the water sector as a mechanical Project Engineer or Project Manager?
 
My client has a new large contract covering multiple sites on the Southern Water framework, as well as existing work on Thames Water and is looking for an experienced mechanical Project Manager, or Project Engineer who has done the Manager role and looking to step up.
 
The key requirements and responsibilities of the role are:
- Manage and control all on-site construction of the project, including assisting the contracts manager
- Ensure commercial risks are identified and managed 
- Participate in and contribute to regular design meetings 
- Ensure that the Contract programme's are adhered to
- Act as the client interface managing the subcontractors
 
You will need to have great mechanical knowledge and previous water sector experience For e.g. having previously worked on projects that are attached to WWTW / WTW clean or waste water treatment works and/or pumping stations.
 
The main duties of the work you will be involved in overseeing are:
·Installation and repair of a range of mechanical equipment including Gearboxes and fans
·Quality assurance and maintaining existing Pumps as well as replacing/ installing new when necessary
·Using Steel work, CAT Ladders and handrails to carry out work
The successful applicant must have
·Experience of performing mechanical site based installation or maintenance
·A full UK driving license
·Experience as a Mechanical Project Manager/Project Engineer in the Water Sector.
·The willingness to travel to multiple sites regularly along the south/South East
It would be highly advantageous to have any of the below
·CSCS card
·Thames Water Safety passport
·EUSR clean water card
·Formal Mechanical Engineering Qualification (C&G/NVQ or similar)
