Overview
 
The Project Delivery Practice at Heathrow Airport  have a 12-month contract opportunity for an experienced P6 Planner required to work as part of an IT Supplier team.  The role is full time week and will be 100% focused on working as part of a team working on a T2 Baggage Programme. The team will be one of a number of Suppliers delivering works to Heathrow Airport as part of a large Programme and will be expected to integrate plans with other parties for onward submission to Heathrow.
 
Responsibilities
·Identification of planning dependencies and links to then develop a detailed P6 schedule. Once an agreed schedule is in place, the planner shall be expected to workday today with site-based team members to track progress and align with cost reporting.
·Attendance at Programme team meetings and one to one session with team leads will be expected on site at Heathrow Airport but there will also be the opportunity for some home working.  You will be responsible for all aspects of the Projects programme and Project Controls.
·Collaboratively working with the design leads to gather progress information to compile and present to the project manager.
·Familiar with commercial and financial aspects of project management.
·Building relationships with project teams and clients and maintaining regular client contact.
·Provision of project performance data, project schedules and reports in a concise and timely manner as required by the project's team leads.
·Successful in identifying any project deviations and slippages, reports and communicates issues to senior members of the team.
·Ensuring that all issues within the programme are highlighted and understood by Senior Management and giving appropriate planning advice.
·You will deliver the Period Programme Update and information regarding changes and delays that have impacted the programme on a period-by-period basis.

Qualifications and experience
·An experienced proactive individual is required so that they can lead with schedule related risks and opportunities as well as earned value style reporting to track spend Vs baseline. Good communication skills both verbally and in writing
·A good basic understanding and previous experience of transportation/airport technologies is desired.
·A good working knowledge of Primavera P6 and MS excel using advances formulas is essential.
·Good understanding of project and programme lifecycle (e.g., Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Installation / Commissioning process).
·Experience of developing multi-disciplinary (cost and resource loaded) baseline schedules in consultation with stake holders and managing the resulting interfaces.
·This role requires the Planner to carry out their Project Control duties with limited supervision, and work under their own initiative in the production of Project Programmes and Tender Programmes.
·Basic Knowledge of various forms of contract, including NEC.
·A basic understanding of performance analysis data and CPI/SPI information.
·A basic understanding of Project Controls Techniques including, budget and spend profiles, change control, Earned Value Management, data analysis, trend analysis and Work Package Management.
·Experience of working on design Projects.
·Member of the APM preferred.
·Excellent communication and collaboration skills and be a proactive team member ensuring the business governance is met.
