Principal Development Management Planner
South West
£45p/h Inside IR35 (DOE)
 
You will be mainly working from home, with the exception of site visits and key meetings. The office location can be discussed upon application to the role.
 
This newly created role is because of an increase in workload due to continued development in the local area. The local authority is looking to bring in an experienced planner that can hit the ground running with minimal supervision. Experience of working on complex, large scale strategic residential and multi-use sites, as well as negotiating complex S106 Agreement is required.

You will be managing a mixed caseload of applications including the most complex and controversial pre-applications, applications and appeals, so must be comfortable with this variety.
 
To be successful in this position you MUST HAVE:
 
·Significant post qualification experience in Development Management in local government, and recent experience in dealing with major pre-applications, applications and appeals and enforcement issues
·Access to your own vehicle or a valid UK driving license (for travel to and from the office and for site visits)
·Be comfortable working from home and using Microsoft Teams/Zoom and IT Software
·An undergraduate degree and Postgraduate degree/qualification in Planning, accredited by the Royal Town Planning Institute.

Role & Responsibilities:
·Managing a mixed caseload of applications including the most complex and controversial pre-applications, applications, appeals, and enforcement matters (including those relating to other consent regimes such as Listed buildings, Conservation Areas, Hazardous Substances and Tree Preservation Orders etc.)
·Support the Development Management Team Leader in the daily management of Senior Planning Officers.
·Authorise planning decisions under delegated powers and authorise reports to Planning Committee.
·Liaise, communicate and meet with applicants, agents, District Councillors, members of the Public, Parish/Town Councils and any other stakeholders as necessary
 
Carrington West Pay Rate - Up to £45per/hour
