Carrington West are assisting their local authority client based in the North West in the search for a Principal Planner to join their Development management team in the Town Planning Department on a initial 6 month contract. This role will be fully remote despite the need to carry out site visits (1 Day per week).

My client is looking for a planning specialist who is confident in providing professional advice for the Council, creating and applying best practice and delivering successful planning outcomes.
 
You will be expected to deal with your own caseload of planning applications, including Complex Major planning applications.
 
Experience within a similar position is necessary. The ideal candidate would have a minimum of 5 years' worth of recent experience in dealing with major residential (100+ dwellings) and commercial developments within a Local Planning Authority, have a proven capability of handling a large case load of complex planning applications with minimal supervision. It would be beneficial to hold a Post-graduate degree in planning, regeneration or a related discipline, and have the eligibility for membership of RTPI.
 

Carrington West Pay Rate - £40 to £45 per/hour
