Job description

Carrington West are assisting their local authority client based in East Anglia in the search for a Planning Support Officer for an initial 3-month contract (Then rolling). The post will be offered on a fully remote basis.

The successful candidate must have experience of working within a planning admin team.

Experience and skills:

  • Previous experience of providing Admin support to a Development Management Team
  • Experience of Validating Planning Applications
  • Experience of using Uniform Software
  • Good Customer Service skills

Activities will include:
Development Management

  • Registration of Planning applications (Postal/ Planning Portal/ electronic)
  • Assessing  valid/ invalid applications
  • Admin processing of consultation responses/ letters of representation
  • Supporting Planning Committee process (issuing letters/ uploading reports etc)
  • Admin process to support appeals
  • Dealing with customer enquires
  • Electronic document indexing
  • Preparation and submission of statistical returns
  • Retrieval of files

Building Control

  • Registering applications
  • Registering & Validating Initial Notices
  • Making appointments for Inspections
  • Dealing with payments and invoicing

Street Naming & Numbering

  • Dealing with applications for new/changes to properties and street names
